Back in March we told you about Matt Farman’s collaboration with alt-country duo The Honey Ants on the video for their track ‘The Devil Told Me Lies’. Since then, Matt has produced a further two videos for the band, utilising Kennington Film Studios’s studios and equipment in the process.
Working out of hours, Matt has headed back to the creative wilds of the music video format in this trilogy of creative content;
“The Honey Ants are great and I love the total freedom you have with music videos to really experiment. Limitations, briefs and deadlines all push us as filmmakers but it’s great fun to get back to the pure interplay of music and image, which is one of the most central qualities of cinematic experience”.
The Honey Ants have been experimenting with their new sound over the past year and these latest videos reflect this exciting journey into new and unknown territories of creativity and musical collaboration.
All three videos were shot with minimal crew and a guerrilla approach, using a variety of kit – most notably the Sony FS7, BMPCC, Zeiss ZF primes and DJI Ronin and Phantom.
Speaking about his choice of kit, Matt was particularly impressed with Kennington Film Studios’s FS7…
“The image out of the FS7 definitely hits above its weight and is particularly good for its price point. We were really pleased with the results”.

Last month music video production company ‘My Accomplice‘ hired our green room and hospitality facilities during the shooting of their music video for electronic music group ‘Major Lazer’.
The new single ‘Powerful’ features reggae legend Tarrus Riey and British songstress Ellie Goulding and is the second single from the album ‘Peace Is The Mission’.
For the purposes of the video, both Ellie and Tarrus came to Kennington and shot a telekinetic video in an American-style diner (Parma Café – possessor of our favourite fried breakfasts) just down the road.
For the duration of the shoot, the crew set up camp in our extensive green rooms and used the facilities as break out rooms, make up stations and production offices respectively.
The video was released last week and has already received over 2,000,000 views.
Check out the video for yourselves and contact us today if you’d like any more information about our green room and hospitality facilities.
